Behind the Brands was a thought leadership event I conceived and produced at San Diego Magazine in partnership with Sony to diversify revenue and deepen engagement with global companies. Positioned as a platform for innovation and storytelling, the event attracted first-time sponsors and partners—including Illumina, ESET, Adidas and Taylor Guitars—while showcasing leaders from industries spanning biotech to beauty. With 500+ attendees, the program not only expanded the magazine’s reach but also generated significant new revenue through strategic sponsorships and curated programming.
